Grab Bag |
It was fun to mix and match fabrics to create these and I completed all four during two morning sewing sessions. The pattern and instructions can be found here. The instructions call for thin quilt batting or craft fleece but I used heavy craft interfacing which keeps the bag's nicely rounded shape. The instructions are easy to follow, even though the completing the handle is a little tricky.
Love these! What a great gift idea. I pinned to return later.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteSaw this, too, and wondered about making it. Yours turned out fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired to stitch some up for myself. Thanks! :)
Visiting from SewCanShe's SOS. Happy Sewing!
Thank you, they were easier to make than I thought they would be. Please post photos of yours when you're done.
DeleteI had problems with sewing the top of the handles. Get it as far as to fold lining and sew the main set of the handles right sides together...so how to sew the lining and the sides to the top of the handles????
ReplyDeleteI sewed the top seam to stitch the lining handles together and then I folded the sides of the lining handle fabric in and ironed it flat. Then I did the same thing (folded the sides in and ironed flat) for the outer fabric handles. Then I just top-stitched the lining handle to the outer fabric handle to sew them together. Hope that makes sense.
